Your donation will help us provide restorative justice throughout the Central Kootenays
KRJ offers restorative justice services to the areas surrounding Nelson, the municipalities of Salmo, Trail, Castlegar, Slocan, Winlaw, New Denver, Nakusp, Kaslo and the outlying communities of the Central & West Kootenays. We rely on the generosity of donors and community partners to provide our program. Your support will help make a difference by supporting harm reduction in our communities.
KRJ clients are often first-time offenders, youth or adults, who are at risk in their everyday lives. KRJ is a voluntary program and seeks to ensure a respectful process for both offenders and victims. We strive to create new pathways for those responsible for harm in their communities. The restorative justice process also reduces costs to our society by diverting cases from the criminal justice system and reducing mental health stress for victims and their loved ones.
